I've got a copy of my AP report. I don't agree with some of the points not awarded. Do I question it now or wait for the award if I get it.

Unless there is something significantly wrong with the report it may be worth your waiting until you see the Decision, our experience from the forum is that Decision Makers do not pay much attention to further information being sent at this time.

I have been awarded enhanced rate on daily living component of PIP but not mobility. And on both parts they have ignored my mental health issues completely and only taken into account my physical disability.

If I ask them to reconsider their decision to award me no points on my mental health disabilities, would they just look at that or would the whole award have to be reconsidered. Could I be in danger of losing what they have awarded me?

Hi bim,

When I have time I am going to merge all of your queries into one topic so that everything can be kept in one place. We ask members to do this as it helps us enormously! You will find the topic easily if you bookmark/favourite it on your web browser. However you will also find all your previous messages if you click on your username (in blue) when you are logged into the site :)

Claimants can ask DWP to review only one element of the award - but they are not obliged to do so. Don't forget that any MR decision will be appealable.

I don't know if you were hoping to score points for both mobility questions? The first 'planning and following a journey' looks only at mental health, sensory or cognitive issues. The second looks only at physical issues.

I'm sorry, as you can tell I don't know how to find my around this forum. I don't really know what I'm doing :( .
I had hoped to get points on 'planning and following a journey' question. But the assessor said ' i engaged well with good rapport and eye contact. I followed 3 stage commands and did not require prompting', apparently, tho i don't know what this refers to. Bearing in mind i was in my own home and not attempting to plan and follow a journey there and then, i don't know how she came to this conclusion. my anxiety state doesn't always show, i have aspergers and i think i sometimes come across as unemotional, but that doesn't reflect what's going on inside me.

I feel guilty because i should be glad i've got something but i think to have all my mental health problems completely ignored and denied is annoying and unfair. sorry i don't like to sound whiny.

Hi bim,

Don't worry about not getting things right here. It is not a hanging offense! :)

PIP was introduced with the specific intention of reducing the benefits bill. The mobility component is particularly hard to get, especially as most people with mental health problems are deemed to score 4 points on the descriptor!

As your Aspergers reduces your ability to experience/show emotion, it is understandable that you did not appear particularly anxious. This is something you can explain in your MR request (if you decide to make one).
