Paradoxically, we find that the people who tend to be given a home assessment without any trouble seem to be the ones who did not ask for it! Nonetheless, if you want a home assessment you should ask for it when you return the PIP2 form. Your request is unlikely to be granted unless you also send in a letter from your GP explaining why you would not be able to attend an assessment centre.

As Gordon said, whether or not to assess in the claimant's home is completely at the discretion of the assessment provider.
