I have just recieved letter to go for reassessment for my pip award, I get full pip so have a mobilitly car and wife is my carer, I have myoclonic jerks, which make me loose muscle control and have a terrible time just like having slight fits when the jerks are bad, my arm, legs, and abdomen jump around, just had one new knee replacement which has not helped, and osteoarthritis in other knee, use an inhaler as I have copd and sleep apnia, Since last assessment I have had knee replacement, been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in other knee, had 3 grab rails fitted and a toilet raiser to help me get up from toilet. But I am worried sick as I try not to bother the doctors and just get on with it, so I am thinking if DWP contact GP there will not be much to report, I take my medication and just mange. Do you think this will effect my reassessment as I am now worried sick.

Hi John and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm not sure if your full name is showing in the forum? If you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

Is this a reassessment form, or have you already submitted that and been asked to attend a face 2 face appointment?

Either way, I suggest that you have a good look at our PIP guide so that you understand the criteria against which you are being assessed and the best way to explain your difficulties.

PIP help for claimants

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it makes our jobs much easier - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Thanks Mrs Hurtyback, I have been asked to a face to face, I have done this when I last got my pip and esa but the thought of going through it again has me worried sick, I worked until I was 60 but had the problem for 5yrs and went to work when I was ill but in the end work told me I was to ill for working and 2 weeks before my 60th I finished work and had nothing. So eventually I got esa and pip and now manage but am worried I will end up with nothing and I am 64 next July so no chance of a job, not that I could do one as I am to worn out now. Many thanks.
