My husband who is registered blind applied to transfer from DLA to PIP because we thought if I should loose my higher rate when made to transfer to PIP we could transfer our Motability car to him, and last week we had the good news he has been granted standard rate daily living needs and enhanced rate mobility and it says for an ongoing period but not sure what on going period means ?

Today I received a letter from our local council advising change of details to our council tax support [no letter from PIP yet] they have been notified that I have been awarded standard rate daily living needs and standard rate mobility so not sure what to do.

In 1985 I was awarded higher rate DLA until 2028 and have had a Motability car ever since, because my condition is getting worse each year I cannot walk very far and get tired very easily. I am now worried if I request a MR my award may be reduced even more so really confused as to what to do at least we can transfer the car to my husband but then our financial situation will be even worse.

I am now worried about the results of my ESA which was 2 weeks after my PIP, can life get any harder !!!!!!

You can't do anything until you receive the Decision Letter, this should include the Decision Makers reasons for the award , it sound as if you have been considered as being able to walk 20m-50m which would be consistent with your DLA HRM award, so the obvious question is whether the distance you can "reliably" walk on "the majority of days" is less than 20m and can you reasonably show this?

Although there is a risk of you losing points if you request an MR, we don't see this very often, the risk is obviously less if you scored 11 points for Daily Living rather than just the 8 required for a Standard award.
