I would not be offered a home visit because I have to attend a couple of medical appointments per year and again Atos told me these constitutes day out plus was told as my Carer rang Atos and not me would not be offered a home visit.

I have heard they can be longer than centre assessments. Did they snoop around?

I would love to know the result you get and I do hope it is what you hope for.

Hi Pennyman,

Assessors have no more rights than any other visitor to the home, They do not have the right to 'snoop' around - nor have we heard of anyone asking/trying to do so.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Pennyman

When he did the home assessment he didn't look around the house at all. Even when I was explaining that the small size of the bath made using the electric bath chair harder, and I offered to let him see it, he said no,that's fine and just took my word for it

I haven't had a result yet but I requested and got a copy of his assessment and, although there are one or two minor mistakes, on the whole it's very fair. I couldn't argue with anything he's said. I'm just hoping they go by what he's said as I counted 16 points for everyday living and 12 for mobility and he recommended it be reviewed in3 years.

:pinch: 2 hours! That would be hell. What did they ask you and how did it turn out in the end?

 I am not able to cook or prepare food due to severely damaged hands on the PIP form it has 3 boxes do you need aids last time I put no because my Carer has to do it for me.
The DWP told me to always tick a box and said because I hadn't ticked some it automatically challenges the software. Do I say yes to an aid because my Carer is the aid?

I am not keen to ticks aids as most don't help for example grab rails because I have no grip but I am being judged as abled bodied even my wheelchair that I am not able to propel myself is ignored.

The boxes feel like a trap but by far the worst thing Atos said to me was trips to hospital means you are not housebound what am I meant to do Hospital Doctors don't come to you. I have missed my last 3 appointments due to deteriorating health I doubt they will notice because the woman said at Atos the minute you write down a Consultant it is assumed you attend. They never wrote to my GP or Consultant.
:S
My Carer types this for me they are the hands I no longer have.
