At 4.30 we had a call from Capita to say that they had spoken to her and according to her she had both called at my house and also phoned me, but had had no reply from me in either case. The phone call I can perhaps understand, as Bt wre working on my phone line today, so it wasn't working every minute of the day, but both my mother and I were within 5 metres of my front door at all times, except when one of us went upstairs to the toilet, and the only knock at the door was fromthe BT engineer at about 11.50 this morning. My Mum was looking out the front window of the house between 11.52 and 12.10, and saw 2 cars stop, but they were both male visitors to other properties.
The problem is that the H.P. described the house accurately, so Capita say they can not make another appointment with me, and are refering my case back to DWP.
They have told me to contact DWP on Wednesday, to ask to have my case refered back to Capita again. I am concerned that DWP will blame me, and refuse my claim, and I am also very annoyed that my Mum hascome over from France to be with me for the medical, at the H.P.'s request, because when I spoke to the H.P. about the home visit I became very anxious, so she gave me her mobile number and told me to get my Mum to call her. When Mum did she asked Mum if she could come over to be with me for the medical.
Has anyone had a similar experience, or does anyone haveany advice?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
Unfortunately we have another member report the exact same scenario to us earlier in the week.
I would not wait until Wednesday to contact the DWP, I would phone them on Monday and I would also contact your MP about the issue.

Because I suffer from PTSD after a very violent marriage, where I was the victim, I find it very difficult to deal with other people either on the phone or in person, this is why my mother came over from France for the medical. She has to return to France on Sunday. Do you think that the DWP will accept a call from her on my behalf? I have no friends that could talk to them for me and both my mother and sister live in France.

Yes I understand that it may take a couple of days for the DWP to receive your file back, but I would still advise you or your mother (see below) to phone on Monday, this is about getting your explanation of what has happened on the record first. After all, why would someone arrange a home assessment and then not be available, knowing that it could impact on their claim. Also you contacted the AP during the time that the assessor was supposed to be with you and why weren't they contactable if they had been unable to get an answer to their knock.
Your mother can speak on your behalf but you need to be available hen she makes the call to answer any security questions and to authorise the DWP to speak to her.
