Carers Allowance when PIP review is negative

I'm finding it extraordinarily hard to find the definitive answer to this question.

If a cared for person with the qualifying benefit has a carer who is in receipt of Carers Allowance, or the underlying entitlement, and on renewal the qualifying benefit is removed is there any kind of run-on for the Carer's Allowance or Premium?

I know (think I know) that there's an eight-week run on in case of the cared for person dying, but what if the benefit is not awarded at renewal? Obvs, there is the opportunity to appeal the removal of the QB.

My understanding, although I cannot find a document to confirm this it, is that the CA itself ceases in line with the DLA or PIP award but if paid then the Carers Premium continues for 8 weeks.

Gordon is correct.
My Son was refused PIP at his DLA to PIP switch.
My carers allowance stopped on the same day as his DLA ended which was 4 weeks after the PIP decision.
