TOPIC: Assessment

Assessment 2 weeks 2 days ago #174508

I just want to tell everyone of my situation. I am disabled and on higher rate on my pip. I am being reassessed for my ESA. I have been asked to go to an center in central London as my local centers are not suitable for disabled people! The center in London has no blue badge parking and the nearest station if I was able to travel on the train is a 10 minute walk for an able body person. Parking is available on pay and display but at least 1 street away.
The only way I can sort this out is by having a home visit and supplying them with a dr's note. This has cost me £25. This is so unreasonable but I have no choice.

Hi Mandy and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm sorry you are going through this, I'm afraid it is not unusual :(

Have a look at our ESA guide to see what to expect at the face2face assessment.

ESA claims and appeals

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments relating to your ESA without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it makes our 'job' very much easier - and I hope you will find it useful too :)
Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
