Hi walker,

I hope you're ok.

How did your appeal go?

Mark

Also what sort of questions did they ask you?

hi Mark

thank you for asking, I won my tribunal

it was for standard mobility award (I already had the standard care)

In fact it was not so bad as I thought it would be

My care coordinator was with me, and he said they could tell I was being honest about my situation, and they had good evidence from professionals who have known me for a long time

I am not sure what you are appealing (the whole award, or just one element) but have examples, illustrations of the way you struggle

I honestly thought they were going to say no, when the dr began saying how I was able to go shopping, locally etc - I just thought now they will say because you can do that you are fine
but I was able to explain the struggles with 'getting out the door', with preparation, and with never going to unfamiliar places

some of the examples I gave were from way back, but they still apply now

just be yourself, and spend some time writing down all the things that cause problems for you - however small they seem,
its depressing to do, it upset me a lot
but it helped me realise just how difficult things really are

Hi all

So my tribunal is in a couple of hours. I have had no sleep and feel dreadful but i am determined to persevere. This feels a bit like i am on trial or like a very harsh interview panel.

I will let you all know how it goes later on and i will be as helpful as possible to others in this situation but i am not going to lie i feel like i am going to **** my pants.

Hi all,

I won the tribunal! Not only that, i got the enhanced for mobility as well, 12 points. I am delighted.

The whole thing only lasted about 20 minutes. They didn't ask anything about the daily living aspect, they said they were satisfied by the quality of my evidence that i was entitled to the enhanced rate.

With regards to mobility, they asked about how i get about, with whom, how often, how i socialise ext....

It hasn't quite sunk in yet. Having spent the past year fighting for this, i am still slightly aggrieved they put me through the process anyway but pleased i got a positive result!

Any questions, let me know!
