TOPIC: Unusual I Know!!!!

Unusual I Know!!!! 2 weeks 2 days ago #174666

As his appointee I made an application for my son for ESA in July this year with supporting evidence from his GP.

At his monthly medication review his Doctor mentioned that she had also had an information request in early November for his ESA application and that she sent her report the same day :)

As I understand it, from the information given on this site, less than 25% of claimants have their Doctors contacted for further history and so I am wondering if this could be due to his having both mental health and learning disabilities and they, therefore, may be considering a paper based assessment?

Obviously, from my point of view avoiding the need for a Face to Face would be a great relief due to the stress it would put my son under. However, if needs be, we will attend and somehow cope with the deterioration in his mental health before and after the assessment :(

As an aside, my son's G.P said she has a lot of requests for reports for ESA and didn't consider it out of the ordinaryl to receive one of my son!

It's possible that a Paper assessment is being considered, you can contact Maximus for an update.

Thank you Gordon.

If I don't hear anything by the end of the month I will 'gird my loins' and make the call.
