PARKINSON DISEASE was created by jean
my letter arrived today to inform me I must phone before 19 th December to transfer from DLA to pip. I missed to cut off age by 3 months as my birthday is 7/7/1949. I have as my main disease Parkinsons plus insulin dependent diabetic, partial sight, arthritis of the spine for which I have a wheelchair out of house, some form of arterial fibrillation due to a heart attack 10 years ago. Surely Parkinsons is enough to be looked at for a claim I have had DLA since 2006. What do you all think, I did the assessment test and I got 22 for care and 24 mobility.

Welcome to the forum.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

PIP does not consider the condition but rather the limitations that result, so two people with the same condition could have very different limitations.

Be aware that PIP does not consider the use of wheelchair, you must explain what distance your can reliably stand and then walk on the majority of days. See the PIP Claim guide for details of these phrases.

If you have scored yourself severely then an award may be reasonable but the criteria for PIP are very different from those for DLA and you cannot make assumptions.

Thanks gordon I think I am getting the gist of this, I made my phone call, and they are sending out form within two weeks, I will follow your guides and cross my fingers. She said I would have a f2f, but how would she know as she has not had my forms back, is everyone having a f2f.

Most people will need a f2f but not everyone. The person on the phone has no knowledge of your claim nor any authority to decide the issue.
