ESA decision timetable? was created by Liam
Hi I posted recently but wanted to ask how long before I'm likely to hear anything? As of October I'd been in the Support Group for 18 months and received a new ESA50 to complete and return to Nottingham by 04/11. I returned it via 'signed for' and they received it on 28/10 and the signature clearly says ATOS on Royal Mail tracking. Haven't heard anything since? Is this likely to be a backlog? Is no news, good news? How soon would you normally be called for a medical? I'm due my next fortnightly payment tomorrow. Any thoughts? I have a progressive neurological condition and wondered if this would stand in my favour?

You can contact Maximus the current Assessment Provider for an update, many areas are suffering delays due to the DWP forcing too many claimants through the system in 2014-15.

Hi I was sent a form to complete was given 30 days to complete and return. Upon completion within few days I had a letter saying I need to have a f2f assessment, I had this within a month and was told by the doctor that I will hear with 4-6 weeks after 6 weeks I rang them and was advised by the call centre that no decision made and there is no time limit. however, lady said she will get somebody to call me back as it has passed 6 weeks and I received a call today that is after 2 moths and one day that I have been moved from support group to work related group the decision maker didn't say much except that he has made the decision today and something will be in the post but rang later again to get further information about appeal procedure and time limit the lady said that he has put down on the system he has given me 14 days to appeal. I worked all my life despite having a poliomyelitis from the age of 2 on my leg followed by further health issues osteoarthritis on my other leg my back being on medication I get blackouts lack of mobility it was a shocking news to me which I didn't expect I don't know how they make decision by f2f interview by a doctor who doesn't even know you and asks you few silly questions like can you use mobile phone can I move my fingers no medical test about my permanent disability. The more honest you are the more life get complicated with this so called DWP decision makers... if anyone has any advise they can give me regarding the appeal procedure I will be very great full. feeling stressed already
