I have just had my partners result back for DLA TO PIP. It has gone from high care and high mobility life long to just mobility. I have read the letter from the DWP and basically the Atos rep has lied. My wife suffer from a serious heart problem and also has had a stroke She stated that my wife's heart was beating normally, but never even checked my wife's plus. We gave her letters stating that my wife had sort term memory issues but had a good long term memory. This had been taken as she can look after all her care needs and monitor her health condition by herself which she can not do due to the serious nature of her condition. She failed to say anything about my wife needs which we passed on. We offered her to observe my wife walking and moving around but she declined saying she had all the information she needed. I have asked the Doctors if they had been asked for information but they said they have not. She asked my wife what was most important to her and she said the car as she would be housebound without it. I have asked for a reconsideration and I am writing the letter now. Please has anyone got any advise as I am stunned as to how they treat people and lie outright

You should contact the DWP for a copy of the assessment report if you have not already done so, I would phone them but again follow up the request in writing. Once you have the assessment report you will have a better understanding of how the DWP Decision Maker has come to their conclusions and will then be able to argue against them.
Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;
"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"
than their opinions
"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.
When you have a better idea of the issues with your claim, come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.
