Applying for ESA claim to be renewed was created by Kells81
Hiya

I was placed in the support group for ESA in April 2014 due to a severe anxiety condition but I have now received the dreaded forms saying I need to reapply again.

My condition is pretty much the same if not worse but am I allowed to copy and paste some of the details I included in my original application or will they object to that?

There are some paragraphs I wrote in the original form that I could still include in my new application if this is allowed and it would make it much easier to complete the form it it's ok.

I'm really worried about how different they expect my 2 applications to be.

Many thanks for any advice

Hi Kells and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Each ESA reassessment stands alone, I would not expect the assessor to have any details of your previous claim ~(or even know that you have one).

You should fill in this form comprehensibly as you did before. It is perfectly acceptable to cut + paste your previous answers where they are still relevant.

Don't forget to make good use of our ESA guide

ESA claims and appeals

May I suggest that you bokmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your ESA without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it makes things easier for us - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Thank you so much for your reply, I think it was down to this site that my claim was approved last time!

I was going to write on my claim that since I was last put in the support group my condition has not improved. Do you think it would be best for me not to mention this then?

There is no problem with you doing this, nut your condition have to be ones that are not likely to improve or you will need to provide medical evidence to support this statement.
