All areas are now 'live' for PIP but claimants are being selected at random. You could get the letter tomorrow or not for several years, we have no way of predicting it.

You can start the process yourself by contacting the PIP Claim Line, but you should think very carefully before you do as once started you cannot opt out of the process and you cannot retain your current DLA claim.

PIP has been specifically designed to reduce the Disability Budget by at least 20%, the criteria for PIP are very different from DLA as is the assessment process and if you look in the news section you will see that a lot of claimants are receiving reduced awards or even no award at all.

If this is something that you want to pursue then at the very least you should have a good read of the PIP Claim guide to make sure that you understand the criteria that you will need to show that you meet.
