Pip face to face!

Pip face to face! was created by Helen k
So I headed to my first pip assessment yesterday in Barnsley.
The guy didn't make me feel at ease at all and when I asked him if he had any understanding of my condition he said no but now I've looked on the internet I do!!!
He hardly asked me anything although I just talked and talked about my condition. I actually thought at times he was willing me to shut up!
I found him condescending and even commented I may get better! Erm condition is genetic and no medication to stop some of the issues!
He never did any mental or physical tests and ended it saying you should hear in 8/10 weeks.
Worst experience ever and now thinking they will see my condition as nothing as understanding of it is so limited even in the medical profession!
So anxious to read the report as I feel he will may lie as how can he comment on the questions on the pip form if he never asked me any!
Oh he asked me where I park and how I managed the hill! Bearing in mind you can't park anywhere near the centre as it's parking for disabled only but the building is surrounded by scaffolding so you can't get near!!
Any advice appreciated as this is the first time I've ever done this

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I should leave it a few days, then ring and ask DWP for a copy of the assessor's report. They are usually sent out without problem but we do occasionally hear from members who have been told they must wait until after a decision has been made.

Other than that, there is nothing more you can do at the moment.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim to one topic as it makes things easier for us - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
