ESA award expiry date was created by Moribond
I was migrated from Incapacity Benefits to ESA Support Group in July 2014. The award letter stated:

'The amount on this page apply from 9 July 2014 to 10 August 2027'

What does this mean? Was I awarded ESA till August 2027?

Last month I received ESA50 for completion.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

ESA is, in theory, an open ended benefit, although all claimants will be reviewed periodically. The longest award under normal circumstances, is 3 years for those in the Support Group, 2 years for WRAG, although there were some delays a couple of years ago due to backlogs.

The claimant is not routinely notified of when to expect reassessment, unless they contact DWP and ask. I have never heard of a letter telling someone they have ESA until 2027 (or any date more than 3 years ahead)!

You should treat every reassessment as you did your first claim, complete the ESA50 form in detail and submit copies of all supporting evidence - even if DWP have already been sent it in the past.

Don't forget to make full use of our ESA guide

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your ESA without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it makes things easier for us - and I hope you will find it useful too :)
