DLA to pip - f2f BEFORE filled in pip2 form? was created by skcollobcat10
Hello

I have POA for husband who has rapid cycling bipolar.

Got pip2 form extended time to complete by telephone until 23rd December.

Just got a letter for f2f addressed to husband which should be addressed to myself for appt on 29th December, they will not have even read the form. Is this correct procedure?

Hi margaret,

No, the face2face assessment should not be booked until the PIP2 has been returned and seen by an assessor! I suggest you phone the assessment provider, the number will be on the appointment letter, and ask what is going on!

Do DWP have you as official appointee? If not, despite the fact that you have POA, the person on the phone will probably want your husband to confirm security details before speaking to you. If you have been interviewed and accepted as appointee by DWP, you should be able to speak on your husband's behalf with no problem.

Hello Mrs hurtyback

I am officially his POA with solicitor and DWP. Just phoned number for face 2 face. The man said too late now to send pip 2 form in, just bring it along with you.

Form had to be back on 9th Dec, got extension until 23rd Dec, this spot 29th Dec.

Just phoned DWP, sent message before this one to b& w site but don't know where it is.

DWP said fill it in send it to them and if f2f have not received form from DWP by 29 Dec f2f will cancel?

Don't know which is correct.

Is this a new claim or a reassessment?

Whilst the legislation does not cover this, an appointment should not be made until the PIP2 has been returned, otherwise how would the Assessment Provider be able to decide whether a face to face was required in the first place. There are also issues as to who should carry out the assessment.

I would make a complaint to the DWP and the Assessment Provider.

Complaining to the DWP
