Oh well, I'm just worried if he becomes unwell and becomes violent. This has happened before when unwell and I had police remove him from house.

Let them put up with the problem, it's so unfair for me to have to deal with this as I'm disabled myself.

The issue is that the DWP have no in-house medical support, so all medical matters have to be referred to the AP's. If the AP says that they do not have enough information for a recommendation then there are two options, seek additional evidence by arranging a face to face assessment with the claimant, or assess on the information they have but the latter is unlikely to be to claimants advantage.

Phoned up today and they have cancelled assessment for ESA that was for end of December (had his award renewed may 2016). Said no sign of any other appt made and forms will go back to dwp and they will send a letter out.

Hello
Letter came from DWP it said we have looked at your claim again following recent change. (What change?)

Still in support group but no explanation given as to the reasons why, should they have sent me details of why they came to the decision they did?

Do I have to ask them?

Hi Margaret,

This does sound as if it is a decision letter relating to your reassessment - but DWP have never been known for the clarity of their communications!

If a decision has been made, you should be able to request a copy of the assessor's report. This will be an ESA85a as you did not have a face2face assessment. Whilst on the phone, you can also ask for the 'prognosis' which will be when you can expect to be reassessed.

I came off the phone before I read reply. She said ESA is for 12 months so is it still needed to get an 85a form, would there be much on it?

The ESA85a can still be useful as it will explain why the SG recommendation was made.
