PIP Appeal and GP report

The dwp did not seek any medical evidence for this application, however had requested a medical report from my GP 3yrs ago for DLA. my medical problems are degenerative and would still apply. Should I ask my GP surgery for a copy of that report and for an additional letter to cover 2 problems that arose this year reference them to the relevant descriptors?
I'm aware some claimant s have Consultants letters. I am concerned that GP reports are not 'good enough' for the appeal panel and I don't have a medical Consultant.
Can you please advise me?
Many thanks, standswithafist

If you think that the letters will support your appeal then you should send them in as part of your submission to the hearing.

I did not submit anything from my consultant psychiatrist
only from my gp and mh support staff
evidence from professionals who know you and how your condition effects you is the most useful
