The guy asked for my Dr and Specialist details which I gave but he was quite forceful about the consent for all medical records.

Do they not contact people then? I find a lot of this really so illogical.

GPs are contacted in around 25% of claims, consultants hardly ever. That's why we always suggest that claimants submit their own evidence as much as possible, rather than relying on the assessor or DWP to do so!

OK thank you for that.

I got the PIP form today and have until the 7th January to return it. I need to get reading about PIP. I have an appointment with my doctor next week and will take her down a letter explaining my every day issues, as the small 5 minute slots are not long enough to explain to a new doctor what I go through every day.

Went to my specialist today. The woman discharged me. I don't know why and she didn't actually tell me, it was written on a form and the receptionist told me.

Money saving I guess, I mean I only go there once every 6 months.

Happy New Year to you all.

I am posting my ESA Appeal form and letters tomorrow Special Delivery. It has to be in by 6th January. Yes cutting it fine I know.

I have an extension on my PIP2 form til 21st January. I saw my doctor today who has put me on Prozac and upped my Levothyroxine. This doctor isn't too helpful as she asked why did I need ESA if I get PIP. I told her I currently get neither and nothing is guaranteed. She was not too helpful with writing evidence until I said if she wrote what was required then if I get money I can pay her.

So with that in mind, what things does the doctors medical letter need to cover? How indepth does it need to be?

It is very worrying that this doctor only seems happy if payment is offered. I am not happy with her but I am a little stuck at the moment.

Hi LL,

I have merged your query with the previous topic relating to your PIP as we ask members to keep everything to do with the same claim in one topic.

To be of most use, a GP report should relate directly to the PIP descriptors. We suggest printing out the PIP descriptors, removing the points score, and ask your GP to comment. This avoids any accusation that you have put words into the GP's mouth!

Please reply to this with further questions or comments and we will do our best to help. You will find it easily in future if you bookmark/favourite it on your web browser now :)

Hi thanks Mrs Hurtyback.

My problem is this doctor doesn't know me at all. We have had 3 x 5 minute appointments and 1 X 10. She also didn't seem happy when I said the letter may need to be more in depth than the previous one and also questioned whether I actually got pain anywhere. This is the lady who sent me for physio on my back because she diagnosed sciatica.

I feel very depressed and helpless with this woman. I need someone who actually cares. 8 weeks without money now and coming up to the first anniversary of my Mum's passing. Not really coping.
