2nd ESA CALL FOR CAPABILITY ASSESSMENT was created by Kareware
I have just been sent a capability assessment form again after a year in the support group.., my lovely doctor and the lady at the face to face last year said I shouldn't have to go to medical as it impacts greatly on my wellbeing.. my doctor has written a letter to send with my questionnaire stating that I sudpffer with anxiety and agoraphobia, and that I am currently in the support group... she states also that I feel my agoraphobia would not enable me to attend.she a,so states that in view of my history as above, please consider keeping me in the support group rather than having me attend the assessment ...any idea what will happen. Ow..I'm dreading it once again..I fell apart last time I went the lady who did the face was face even got upset with me...

Hi Kareware,
Sorry that your reassessment has come round so soon
No matter what your GP says, you will only be spared a face2face if the assessor feels s/he has enough information to make a recommendation to the DWP without one.
This means that the more , relevant, information you put into the ESA50 form the better. Don't forget that you will only be put back into the Support Group by showing clearly how/why you meet the specific descriptors.
In addition, if you hope to use the 'exceptional circumstances' clause (that it would be harmful for you to be found fit for work' or undertake Work Focused Activities) you must provide up to date evidence of this, even if you did so last time.
You probably don't remember anything about this - but it is all clearly explained in the ESA guide
ESA claims and appeals
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your ESA without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim to one topic. This makes things easier for us - and I hope you will find it useful too
