An MR allows the DWP to revise the existing award this can be more points or fewer, a reduction in points would be unusual and we have not seen one on the forum for some time but I do see them on other forums occasionally.

Hi, I am new to this but I read your info about having a mandatory re assessment. My assesor decided I didn't need my benefit and payments stopped. I just couldn't believe it, I felt numb! So I then had to write for a re assessment. My stress level are overwhelming it took me a week to try to write a letter. I most likely was a bit emotional but did question specific findings but again got knocked back. I realise now my only option is to go to a higher panel personally but as I cant travel very far so again I will have to write to appeal this so wrong decision. The thought of doing this is so overwhelming, I cant think straight and I don't think I can handle filling anymore forms in as I know I forget things that I should put in! I am so depressed I am fighting a internal battle not to go under. I just dont think I have the energy to defend myself and cant get over they think I'm lying. So Sorry to rant but I really pray you win your Reconsideration and don't have to go through this physical and mental torture.

thanks for the reply. the thing that really rankled me was the assessor was asking me a question about mobility and planning and going through a journey. she asked " do i know the surrounding area outside my home" i replied yes, that is why i didnt get the enhanced mobility. i have lived here all my life so i should know the area !!. she asked me how many bad days i have to which my carer answered 2 or 3 days a week sometimes more. all the daily activities she asked me about, she never asked once if i could perform them on a bad day . i will let you know when i get my brown envolope

so sorry to hear your story. firstly get help to write your letter, this site or citizens advice. you will have bad days. MAKE SURE you include them in your letter. try and get as much proof to back up your letter . first stop your doctor .stay strong, dont let them grind you down. try and stay focused xx

Hi freddy,

I wonder if the '2 or 3 days a week' was your undoing. In order to be considered, you must have these problems for most of the time.
