Hi everyone. Sorry I've been away since my last tribunal. Needed a break.
My mum had a two year PIP award after going to tribunal herself. She has been waiting for the reassessment form but she had a later last week telling her she has to reapply if she still needs it. We phoned them up and they told us that you do not get the chose to be reassessed with two year awards. You have to reapply.
I am sorry if you have covered this while I havent been on here but I havent heard of that before. Thank you for any help.

Hi Michele,

To the best of my knowledge, this is not correct. I will bring it to Gordon's attention when he returns this evening, he might have more information.

This seems to be the case for awards made by a Tribunal, it's not because it is only for two years as we have had members with a two year award who have been reassessed as expected after a year.

Awards for less than two years should be reassessed 20 weeks before they end.

I think I might have misunderstood what was meant by 'reapply'? I assumed Michelle's mum had been told to start the whole process again with another PIP1 over the phone?

Thank you for the replys. Yes. She has to start the whole process again. We phoned up and they said she has to start again. So we are waiting for the new form again.and have to go through the process from the beginning. I was a bit worried about her money stopping in the mean time because of the new claim going through. I had a three year award at the tribunal and I was reassessed a year inadvance but the dwp said because my mums is only a two year award she has to reapply.

In her letter it told her if she still needs help. She needs to phone the 0800 new claims number which is the number in the letter.
