PIP review form was created by tabby026
Hi, My PIP award is due to end on 29th November 2016.

How soon before this date will I get sent an AR1 form to complete?

If there is no change on certain parts of the form, do we still have to write down how things were from the last PIP assessment, or will the moderator have that information to hand?

Will you be putting up any information on how to complete an AR1 form?, as it would be very useful to have some pointers.

Many thanks

Tasha

Hi tabby,

I was going to say that DWP often start the reassessment process 1 year ahead of the award ending - but I see that you are already well past this point (I assume you had a short award?)! I would expect you to get the form within the next few weeks.

We don't yet have a guide as the form is very new. However, you will be asked whether your problems are the same, better or worse.

We only have one member who has seen the process through as far as a decision. They said that things were unchanged and were given a further award at the same level.

Hi, My PIP award was due to expire on 29th November 2017. I had my award review paperwork sent in the post yesterday! 7th December 2016. Why are they sending this paperwork out so early?? Also if I say that something has changed on the form , does that automatically mean I will be sent for a face to face assessment?

I'm afraid almost all fixed term awards of PIP are reassessed a year in advance of the award ending.

If you have received a PIP2 (1003) then this is a full reassessment of your claim and you need to treat it as a new claim, complete the form in detail and supply evidence as you can even if you have provided the documents before.

If you have received an AR1 (1004) form then you only need to detail any changes that have occurred since you were last assessed.

In both cases the PIP Claim guide explains how to complete the forms and the issues that you need to consider.

Whether a face to face assessment will be required will depend on the level of detail that you provide in and with the form, you need to provide sufficient information for the assessor to make a recommendation with their needing to see you.

Hi I have just been sent a PIP review form. I have Cerebral Palsy and General Anxiety Disorder.

My conditions haven't changed or the help that I need, apart from one thing.

Re Managing treatments: My physiotherapist has given me a passive (partner) stretching routine (that my carer needs to do with me twice a day) and also advised for my carer to give my legs and feet a daily massage, to help with the tightness and pain levels in my lower body. Can I just write this down and include a copy of the stretches in with my additional information as evidence?. Do I need to write in my physiotherapists HPC number?

Also if I put no change to most of my form, do I still need to provide evidence for these questions?

Will a letter from my mother (my main carer) explaining about my conditions count as evidence?

If I do the above will I have to have another face to face assessment?

if so how can I get a home visit with ATOS?

It is awful that you have to prove you are ill. I feel anxious and paranoid about the whole thing.

Hi Tabby,

I have merged your query with the previous topics relating to your PIP review. You will see that we have already answered part of your question. This is one reason why we ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic - so that we can all see what has already been asked and answered.

We do not have a lot of experience with the new short form. One member put 'no change' and had the award extended, another member has had a face2face assessment, so it is not predictable.

If you put 'no change' you should not have to provide evidence for these questions.

Your carer can send in a factual report. It will be better than nothing but will not be given the weight of a report from a health professional

You should send a letter from your GP in support of your request for a home visit, explaining why you would not be able to attend an assessment centre. This is still at the discretion of ATOS even then.

If you have further questions or comments please reply to this message and we will do our best to help. You will find it easily in future if you bookmark/favourite it on your web browser now.
