DLA to PIP was created by Maggie
Hello all & Happy Christmas especially to the moderators,

Received PIP Decision letter today, just short of 3 weeks since paper assessment. Bit of a shock for the decision to be so prompt because I'd tried to' put it in the locked box' (anxiety technique), until after Christmas. Perhaps the Additional Support & Vulnerable marker has speeded things up a bit.
Enhanced care & enhanced mobility until Nov 2026!!
Initially wanted to slit my throat from the shame of it. Not easy to see my problems verified in black & white.
Perhaps this 7 months torment is over. Whether I can find the strength & help to recover from this only God knows. At least my housing is safe as I will now be able to afford the rent increase next year. Its going to be a long time before I'm strong enough for my psychotherapy to restart.
I cannot thank B&W enough & to the moderators & forum (&GP) who have kept me alive.

I followed the advice to the letter. Having a supportive GP to compile a detailed letter based on the sample GP further medical evidence report form you give & using a copy of the descriptors made all the difference. The effect of medication on my ability to safely do the activities was made clear. My inability to travel or cope with a F2F was made clear, with evidence from GP records. I paid a contribution for this. I sent this with the PIP2 form & other evidence BEFORE ASSESSMENT. I should also have sent in the diary showing variability (this was asked for by the assessor), but I found this too distressing. I also had help from Age UK with the form.

I feel absolutely exhausted & drained mentally & physically. No one has gained from this vile torture & it has cost the NHS dear. It would so help people's distress if DWP sent out the PIP1 form, I consider it a' reasonable adjustment' under Equality Act. To have to do ESA & PIP together is cruel.
My thoughts are with those of you fighting through appeals. Keep strong.

Heartfelt thanks to Gordon & Mrs Hurtyback.
Best wishes Susie

Susie

Many congratulations on the award, especially as it is for ten years, but I do understand your muted reaction, give it a few days and hopefully you will feel better about the award :)

Thank you for all your comments about the site.

Susi, I'm so glad that this has now been decided in your favour. I understand that having your problems recognised like this can make everything seem cruelly real, I wish there was some other way that was kinder to us all!

I hope you will be able to relax a little now.
