i am helping my uncle who has an esa medical app in january.I have just came across a support letter from his gp which is dated 2012 the previous time he was assessed, the gp explained how difficult he would find attending the medical because of mental health problems and asked would they carry out the assessment at his home.He then recieved a letter to attend an interview at the job centre.On the way home from the job centre he collapsed an ended up in the A&E.He then received another letter placing him in the support group.I was wondering is the letter of any value now,should he take it with him to the medical.

You can certainly use the letter, but given it's age and the nature of your uncle's conditions I'm afraid it may not carry much weight, a new one would be far more effective, present it at the assessment and ask the assessor to read it before they continue with the interview.
