GP Factual Report was created by Maggie
Hello Gordon & Mrs Hurtyback,
The GP Factual Report I refer to is on p67 of the B&W PIP guide sorry I don't know how to do a link. I also discussed & highlighted the descriptors I thought were relevant to me & would be in my notes. The GP can also refer to hospital CMHT records in their report.
It is also worth emphasising & explaining with relevant examples: RELIABLY, SAFELY, REPEATEDLY & TO AN ACCEPTABLE STANDARD. The PIP2 Information booklet is helpful.
The PIP Handbook for HP's (page 90-130 ish:the descriptors) is worth reading.
It is essential to have medical verification of the effects of your medication on you : from your medical records give dates & explicit details.
I was surprised to only get 4 points for cooking & preparing food & 0 for taking nutrition. Under DLA I got the full amount. It is a major problem & additional cost for me to keep healthier. I think this was because I am currently overweight & eat junk food directly due to my disability & sedative medication. PIP seems to regard physical inability to use hands to chop veg for the full points. Quality of nutrition doesn't seem to be considered, again physical ability to put spoon in mouth is. I don't think cold sandwiches & junk food is nutrition to an acceptable standard, but thats what the computer button says.
Hope this helps. Sorry currently down with shingles: thanks DWP.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thanks for explaining about the report.
I think if you look at the higher Descriptor for Preparing Food.
f. Cannot prepare and cook food. 8 points.
This is a very high standard to meet and would indicate significant disability, also note the change of language from a meal to food.
Preparing Food should consider the nutritional value of the food that is prepared and cooked, but if you don't cook meals and only eat sandwich's, prepared food and "junk" food then this would be out of context.
