PIP2 form was created by Pipp
Sorry if this is glaring obvious. I am a bit out of practise with forum and claims having been left alone for 4 + Years by DWP.

I have my transfer DLA to PIP process starting today. Is there a template PIP2 for in resources here, so I can get ahead before I receive the paper one?

Also, I am having problems with opening topics here in forum, and general members only info. Denied access to some pages and others very slow to open.

Ps. Glad you guys are still here in my hour of need. Thank you

Hi PC and welcome back.

I'm afraid we have had some problems with the site - it is taking me ages even to load a single page!

It can help you to access resources if you take the 'tick' out of the 'keep me signed in' box alongside your log-in details.

You can view a sample PIP2 form here -

www.gov.uk/government/publications/how-y...sability-affects-you

However, it is vital that you complete and return the form you are sent as this will be marked with a unique barcode that identifies you.

You probably remember that we ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic, so please reply to this with further questions and we will do our best to help :)

Thank you Mrs Hurtyback.
And thanks for the welcome back, though I never really went away, keep renewing membership, as best insurance ever.
Of course I thought that I would be prepared for the inevitable transfer from DLA. Still a quivering wreck when the envelope arrived and I made the initial call. I am now going to go away, breathe, and prepare for battle.

Promise to be brave and not bother you all too much, especially with trivia.

Best wishes to all of you, and thank you for the service you provide.

An observation /warning to others. Maybe it is documented here somewhere, but I missed it?
DLA to PIP.
Your PIP application starts as soon as you phone after receiving your first letter. Of course in a panic I rang the day the letter arrived, even though I have a couple if weeks to do so. By waiting until nearer the deadline I could have bought myself more time. That was my first error, as the number of bank holidays over Christmas and new year meant from the date if receiving the PIP2 form to the date it needs to be returned gives me just 2 weeks to complete it. I could have extended that time by waiting until nearer the final date to apply.

A question. Although I really don't want to ask for an extension. Sooner the darn thing leaves my hand the better, as anxiety, and rechecking and tweaking the responses is not good for my mental or physical health. When I started the process in the initial phone call I was told, and made a note of it, that I would have 40 days to complete the form. As the phone call was 21Dec, the day I received the letter, and form has to be returned by 21 Jan, didn't they get the sum wrong? Should there be 40 days?

One other thing, as I am having difficulty writing on the form, both because of manual dexterity and not being enough room, would they accept typed responses at the back if I just put in each section of the form 'see attached typed response' ?

Claimants have four weeks (28 days) to complete and return the PIP2, this includes postage time.

If you need an extension then ask for it, returning a the form with anything less than your best effort does you no favours. I can understand your wanting to get rid of it but this is all about the long game and getting the right award.

It is perfectly OK for you to type your answers and attach them as extra pages to the PIP2, just make sure that each page has your full name and NIN at the top and that they are numbered, we recommend "page X of Y" so that it is easy to see if pages are missing. Make sure you clearly mark on the form where your answers are and on the relevant page that you are answering question X.

Attach the pages to the back of the PIP2 using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.

Thanks, Gordon. So that should be 4 weeks from the date one makes the initial phone call. Which was where I made my first error, as I did that as soon as the form arrived, not by the deadline, which would have been today. That would have given me a few more weeks to get welfare benefit adviser to check it over. Clock started ticking as soon as I made the call. The 40 days to return the form that was stated in the first call is obviously mis-information then.
If I am not happy with my effort I will request an extension a few days before it is due back.
