I have had confirmation that I am to have a home visit from Atos for an Assessment on the 3rd of March will I be able to show the Assessor any new evidence since I sent in my claim form I have the result of Field visual Test and also recent appointments at the hospital for Steroid Injections. If I am having a bad day can I stay in bed I no I must not start to panic because I am in constant pain anyway and other issues. Any advise would be appreciated.

Yes you can supply new evidence at the assessment, ask the assessor to read it and include it in your file before they start the interview, they are required to do this by the DWP.

If you are only able to manage the assessment while in bed then that's fine, I assume that you will have someone with you to let the assessor in.

I had my home assessment last Friday at home the assessor was very polite and seem to care I was unable to get up because I was in such pain from a procedure that not worked and made things worse given severe leg cramps and many sleepless nights. He ask if I could do some movements in bed and I said I was not able to because the pain was so severe and I was so fatigued. At the end he said would you like me to switch you lamp of so you can try and get some sleep. My husband was in his office just scanning some appointments that had come through before I send the claim form off and he needed to have copies but he step in if I was having difficulties. He did not ask me if I could get out of bed so am worried in case he says I did not try. I suppose it is done and I can only await the envelope in a few weeks time. I have not had a home visit for my Memory test and I failed so now they are looking at my Brain scan from last year to establish if I have Alzheimers or if this is a result of my stroke should no soon. Should I make them aware of this or will it not effect my claim

PIP Decision are taking about 204 weeks at the moment.

You should be able to request a copy of your assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim.

If you have a definitive statement about your memory problems before the Decision is made then you should send a copy to the DWP.
