Hello, I was just wondering if someone could explain what medium term means when written on a medical report? After finally plucking up courage and managing to get through to the ESA helpline, after requesting the medical report, it stated something about medium term. However, after speaking to another adviser (which I wish I hadn't, due to his very offhand manner and strangely tapping away on the computer for ages before I'd even asked him anything), was told that the next reassessment was only 12 months. From what other people seem to have posted, I thought medium term meant 2yrs, or at the least 18mths? Would this mean that the DWP have disregarded the medical report/medical assessor or do I have my wires crossed? I am already stressing as I know that they send out the forms probably a month or two beforehand and it still feels like I've only just gone through the last one. Thankyou

I would normally expect medium term to mean 18-24 months, unfortunately it is only a recommendation and the DWP are not bound by it so if they want to reassess you after 12 months then I am afraid they can do this.
