Hi John and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm sorry that you did not get the decision you feel you deserve :(

If you want to take this further, your first step will be to request a 'Mandatory Reconsideration'. This is explained in the PIP guide.

The whole reason behind the introduction of PIP was to reduce the benefits bill, therefore it was made harder to qualify for than DLA. It could be that you genuinely do not qualify for the Enhanced level of award. Have a look at the PIP descriptors and see where you believe you should have scored the extra points. Also look at our guide so that you completely understand the requirements for that score. Then ask your GP to explain why you meet this criteria in his/her letter of support.

It is useful to get a copy of the full assessor's report, DWP usually send this out on request. Post is likely to be slower than usual at this time of year, so don't delay in getting your MR request submitted if it has not arrived (you have a month from the date on the decision letter to get your MR request to DWP). Tell DWP that you will send in additional information when you have seen a copy of the report and they should allow you more time to get this to them.

When you have seen the assessor's report you will have a better idea of why you did not get the award you believe you should. Then we might be able to give you more specific information.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions and comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Yes, it is common to be asked for how many minutes you can walk. What did you reply?

Gordon, senior mod, has a calculation regarding distance/time walked, I'll see if I can find it as he is not on-line just now.
