Thank you and confused!

Firstly, can I say a big thank you to the team at Benefits and Work.

After almost five months of going through the process of transferring from DLA to PIP. After much delay as Capita insisted on coming to see me at home, even though my GP have wrote to them and asked for a paper based assessment as I'd be unlikely to attend a face to face because of the severity of my depression, anxiety and physical problems. The F2F was really difficult for me to cope with, I think I cried through most of it and wife did all the talking. The lady who came to see us was quite nice and even showed some empathy, but I couldn't help having a distrust of her which was a shame. But considering the way I and others have been treated in recent years it's not surprising.


So yesterday I had the "brown envelope of doom" arrive. I've been awarded enhanced care and mobility for 4 years, I can't deny that it's been 5 months of hell, worry and stress, but I couldn't have done it without the help from the guides and support from this forum and the support of my wife.

Secondly, I'm a little confused as I had another letter today from the DWP regarding my ESA, the letter said, "due to recent changes we have looked at your claim again and awarded ESA again"?

I haven't notified them of any changes so is it safe to assume that the 2 departments talk to each other now? or is it just a bit of luck? I would appreciate it if anyone knows the answer, could you please let me know?

I'm afraid that I am just as confused as you over the letter about your ESA! The only thing I can suggest is that, after the holiday, you ring DWP and ask them.
