Hi, Can anyone tell me if this is the normal procedure when transferring from DLA to PIP. My husband sent his pip2 claim form back and received a text on the 10th of January telling him the DWP had received it.Today he received a letter from Capita that was dated 20th January it was only an initial information pack it was a letter with a reference number for his claim telling him they had received his claim and it was with an assessor. I thought that the letter you would receive from Capita would give you an appointment for a f2f, this information letter just tells you what happens and the procedure when you make a claim for pip, it says the whole process can take up to 16 weeks. Does everyone receive these letters? and is it a good or bad thing? It has been 3 weeks now and my husband thought we would have heard about a f2f appointment by now, he is very anxious and has been worrying since he has had to start this process before xmas, he is afraid he will lose his mobility car. Any information you could give him would be much appreciated. Thanks .

Hi , my husband still hasn't received a date for a f2f, he is transferring from DLA high rate indefinite which he has been on for 25 years, his pip2 has been with Capita since 20th January, they sent him a letter saying it was with them and that was the date on it. I rang them on the 6th February, and was told by the receptionist that a date hadn't been sent out for a f2f but he could make one for him if I wanted him to, I said no that he would wait until he was sent for. I thought that decision was made by the assessor, not a receptionist.Do you have any thoughts on this.Any information would be welcome.Thanks.Sorry for the long post.

Hi Judy,

You are right in saying that the assessor will decide whether a face2face is needed. I don't know whether there was something that the call handler could see on the computer screen or whether they were 'jumping the gun'.

Do you think that it is taking a long time? Dwp sent text on 10th January saying they received form, Capita sent letter dated 20th January saying assessor, and we have not heard anything since. Does it normally take this long?
