Sorry if I offended you Gorden but my concern is this as I have PREVIOUSLY STATED earlier an ATOS health care has visited my home in the past whilst I was pressent and they were aware of my mental health conditions. The ATOS hcp was in no danger then why should they be now!
The fact is that the assessment centre is the cause for concern and that was what I was trying to get over.

I do understand the concern you have, but there are very few options available to you, as I said assessment decisions are in the hands of ATOS all I can suggest is that you contact your MP for assistance.

This is one of the problems that claimants have on a regular basis that we have no solution to.

UPDATE

Well I did what you and even the DWP asked of myself. I got a GP report saying not to attend the ATOS assessment centre under any circumstance and he also wrote in support of my claim with regards my mobility and daily care needs. I sent this report to the DWP and ATOS a week before the ATOS appointment and phoned to make sure they had got it. My GP also gave me a thorough examination and lots of blood tests. I now have type 2 diabetes I have to have an angiogram because of suspected angina and take ove 23 tablets a day on top of all my other ailments. I've been even asked my MP to help.
I've just received a letter staing my DLA of 16 years is to stop and my PIP claim has been refused because I didn't attend the ATOS appointment without good reason.
I've got 4 weeks to ask for a mandatory reconsideration unfortunately the case manager at the DWP is refusing to do this.
The welfare rights ream at my local council said they can't help and my MP is not answering my emails. I don't know which way to turn, HELP IS REALLY NEEDED. Thanks Alan.

You obviously did not attend the booked assessment, did you contact ATOS to say that you would not?

What response did you get from your MP?

At this time all you can do is reply to the DWP explaining that you could not attend the assessment due to your conditions and that this was confirmed by your GP, include their letter.

At this point the DWP do have the authority to request that ATOS do a home assessment, but they may still push back due to the perceived risk. The assistance of your MP is critical at this point.

Hi Gordan
Yes both the DWP and ATOS had my GP,s letter stating I was unable to attend on health grounds, apparently they should have wrote to me explaining that I still had to attend the appointment and give reasons why. This would then have been subject to scrutiny by a future appeal if necessary. 14 years ago I attended a DWP assessment with regards a claim for incapacity benefit. I ended up being man handled by a so called health care professional that I had an epileptic seizure I ended up in hospital with a fractured skull and a scar above my left to remind me of it. My MO has wrote to ATOS and they have raised a complaint so I look forward to their response. I've copied my MP into all email correspondence between myself and ATOS creating a paper trail that is undesputable.

There are template letters in the PIP area that you can use to make the MR request.
