Hi interested,

ESA assessments/reassessments got very backlogged a couple of years ago. Most areas seems to have caught up but we do still hear of delays.

You can wait and see - but the danger of this is that an ESA50 form could have been sent out to you but gone astray. If this were to happen your claim would be closed when the form was not returned. For this reason, I would suggest phoning DWP to ask when you are likely to be reassessed. Doing so would not trigger reassessment.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Interested,

I understand that it's usually 3 years between assessments. I moved from incapacity benefit to ESA support group after my last assessment in June 2012 so the DWP must be more than 18 months behind and counting in my area of Cambridgeshire so I wouldn't worry unduly about the delay.

I have been planning my answers in readiness for the next assessment whenever that may be but I think I'll put Mrs H's advice to the test and give them a call, I actually hope that provokes them to assess me since I have recently used up to date medical evidence to successfully support my PIP claim which will also help me with an ESA claim.

Hiya

My 'prognosis', in other words when they were likely to/could/can assess one was Oct 2016 after being in SG for 3 yrs. That was in writing from them 3 years ago.
I am still waiting to hear.
I am not I think in an area of where they are behind in any way, so not sure when it will occur.
In 2015 I did the DLA to PIP and was given an indefinite award in both care/mobility high rate and therefore am hoping they have looked at that some how and perhaps have given another 3 year review without completing a form !!! one can hope any way
