Is your partner part of your claim, you will need to be receiving Income Related ESA in part or in whole for this to be the case? if you are then you need to contact the DWP about this, you will lose the couples rate which is about £40 per week, but if you receive DLA or PIP you may now qualify for the Severe Disability Premium if you are now living alone or considered to be.
If you only receive Contribution Based ESA then your partner is not part of your claim and you do not need to notify them.
Notifying the DWP of this change will not result in a reassessment of your claim.
You also need to inform any other agency that you are receiving an Income Related benefit from, for example your Local Authority for Housing Benefit.
