Hi, I will have my ESA review in a few months so trying to get ready for the ESA50 form. I have my last one saved on the computer as a pdf.

I have my last two ESA85A forms (I have never had a F2F for ESA and was transferred over from incapacity benefit). Both of them basically say the same thing and to review in medium term- 18 months. I am in the SG under Risk- to both physical and MH I think. Although it was based more on MH in what it says.

So if things are still basically the same is there any problem in me just checking the ESA50 I have saved and printing it off ready to send, with things like recent prescriptons for my meds. I'm unsure whether to include my consultant's and psych letters as date from 2014-2015 mainly and they have those already. I do have my care plan and it states on my recent Debt and MH form about my diagnoses and it being an ongoing situation so that might be useful as well.

Thanks

OB

There have been recent updates to the DWP's guidance on Significant Risk so you should definitely have a read of the new ESA Claims due to Mental Health before deciding what to include in your ESA50.

Thanks I had a look. On my ESA85As it simply states that I would be at risk from work-related activity due to my MH condition and that to review in 18 months, it then lists the reasons why mainly as the evidence- for example-
Has a care-co-ordinator
Has a care plan
Form 113

It says the evidence indicates an improvement may take place in the medium term hence the review in 18 months.

I don't have much 'new' info- care plan etc all done previous to last review. So I was thinking of enclosing the following-

Recent PIP appeal letter enhanced care until 2019-
(I know a different criteria but for example points for support to socialise (4) and possibly other may be relevant.

Debt and MH form-
GP states ongoing conditions, diagnosis, meds etc and dated recently also my other ongoing health condition.

Care plan dated 2015 (but with recent 3-month prescription scripts for the 6 months prior to the review)-
showing ongoing medications.

Can you see any problems or benefits with including these and anything else might be useful to enclose?

Thanks.

If you are hoping to qualify under the Exceptional Circumstances rule then you need to provide up to date information that the risk of harm still exists, there will be no assumption by those assessing you that you still do.

I noticed something, online that the ESA guidance was updated in Jan 2016 which was when mine was last reviewed (well it was over Christmas and renewed in January) I wonder if they used the new guidance with me then?- as it just states much the same on the ESA85A as it did previously with the additional statement about the long history and severity of my conditions.
