Another WCA whilst getting PIP & Support Gp

Hello,
My daughter who receives PIP and ESA Support Gp awards has been asked to complete another Work Capability Assessment which has to be returned by 13th Jan.
Your assessment questionaire awarded her a multiple of the points required to qualify again, based on information already sent (about 18 months ago) with her earlier claims.
As we dont have a copy of the previous application forms and it is too late to request copies, I am considering sending a copy of the succesful PIP tribunal award of 15points. Is this a good idea ? I realise the two awards are not directly connected but was thinking it might help fend off the Face to Face interview this time round. Many of the new WCA form answers are similar or more favourable to a new claim so should i bother sending the PIP tribunal info ? Time is running out.

Peter

Although there are areas of crossover between the ESA and PIP activities, even where there are there are nonetheless differences in the assessment criteria.

You should certainly consider sending the report, but it is unlikely to substitute for a face to face assessment. To be effective you need to show how the contents of the PIP report relate to the ESA criteria.

Thanks, Gordon
After ransacking the cupboards I found the PIP application and the Consultation Report Form PA4, which disputes almost everthing written in the application.
Hence the appeal. How do I use this to show how it relates to the ESA criteria ? Psychiatric disorder was the strongest claim and
Only on page 28 0f 28 does it mention "for office use only - Psychiatri disorders Mixed anxiety ans depressive disorders"
Baffling

There are several references to ' contradicting the MSE'. Am I right in thinking this is Mental State Examination, a very shallow method of assessment of which the claimant should be aware ? The assessor was a SRN, hardly qualified for this. Just threw this in for discussion !

Hi Peter,

You need to point out what bits of the PIP application, and supporting documentation, explain why you cannot do the tasks linked to the PIP descriptors.

You can also explain any apparent inconsistencies that the assessor has flagged up and/or explain your problems in more detail if, in retrospect, you think you didn't say enough on the form.

Yes, MSE refers to Mental State Examination.

It's not that we didn't say enough, more that what we said was totally ignored by the assessor. Thankfully, the tribunal disagreed with the assessor. Lesson learned.
