Payment of ESA once Appeal to tribunal registered

Please will you clarify for me , whether once my appeal is registered and accepted for ESA , as I've been helped to lodge this by my local Unemployed Workers Bureau - I may ask DWP for the basic rate of ESA to be paid ?

I unfortunately lost mandatory reconsideration , but prior to this I've been receiving this money since leaving full time work in 1996 , despite losing it twice and getting it back on appeal before , I am 62 years old .. .

I'm not sure if I can still apply for basic rate whilst appeal goes to tribunal ?

I was receiving ESA , contributions based , prior to 30 November when they stopped it .

Many thanks for past help

Hi katee,

Yes, once the Tribunal Service have notified DWP that your appeal has been accepted, you can ask DWP to start paying you the basic rate again. You must submit fitnotes/sicknotes for the whole period for which you wish to be paid.
