HELP,esa assessment 10th jan advice NEEDED? thanks was created by steve
Hi sorry about the multiple posts but were running out of time. so.....
1 can anyone offer me any advice on how he can apply descriptors to his conditions? he have no idea how to apply these things? what descriptors apply to these conditions - Long term , severe depression, severe social anxiety/ social phobia/ BDD body image issues , alcoholism and paranoia and obsessiveness.
2 can anyone offer any help on these supposed 'trick' questions and vague questions they ask you in terms of traveling, average day and similar?
3 finally, were worried the advocate says something he shouldn't. The guy is not experienced in assessments, thinks they are fair and there's no need to be guarded in ones answers?
any advice needed, thank you very much
going to have to post two more posts as ive a lot to go through if anyone can help please do. thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

You are approaching this in the wrong way.
You should be trying to explain how his conditions apply to the descriptors rather than the other way around, this may sound a trivial difference but it is fact a very important point. The Descriptors are written in law, there is little if any opportunity to redefine them to make them fit the problems that a claimant has.
The claimants journey to and from the Assessment Centre will be considered as part of the interview. For example if the claimant has problems with mobility or with going out, then observations on how they get to the appointment are relevant to the assessment.
Be clear what an average day for the claimant means. In general claimants need to think about their worst days, their best days and how they are for the majority of the time. Even when thinking about their best days, this does not necessarily mean that they can complete the activities "reliably" and "on the majority of days".
Questions will be directed at the claimant, it's unlikely that the advocate will be allowed to speak or if they do that much weight will be applied to what they say.
