ESA - my daughter's income (I am her carer) has gone above 16,000 partly due to PIP and due to compensation. She will alert them, but can you advise please whether the amount to pay back is every pound received since she went over; whether her ESA stops; and whether she can re-instate her ESA almost immediately, as I think the payback would bring her back under the 16,000 ceiling. Thank you

I've moved your post to it's own topic as you had posted in an informational topic from the Moderators!!!
I assume you mean her savings rather than her income.
If she is receiving an Income Related Benefit such as ESA(IR) then saving over £16,000 will stop the payment of her ESA, this would be from the date that her savings exceeded this limit. Any payments after this time will be recoverable in full.
However, she had an obligation to tell the DWP of any savings in excess of £6000 so that deductions from her ESA could be made, if she has not done this then she will owe the DWP for these deductions as well which could be a sizable amount and could lead to accusations of fraud.
I would recommend that your daughter gets face to face advice from a trained advisor at soon as she can, she should do an internet search for "welfare advice" with her postcode, town or county.
