Re ESA reveiw was created by Cardiff2011
Hi, A friend has received ESA50 04/15 presumably to review his condition since last ESA form in 2012. I have downloads Guidance notes Physical (92 pages) and Mental (94pages) but struggling to read them on screen. I think it is very important to include Consultants reports but form has to be returned by 1st Feb 2017 which does not leave time to arrange these. He has appointment with Mental Health Care Worker this Wednesday (I will attend with him). Will it be sufficient for report from Care Worker Mental Health and GP Physical Health? He has not seen Psychiatrist for about 1 year and Orthopedic Consultant for more than that I think. I have copy of previous ESA form but appreciate Guidance may have changed since then.
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Cardiff,

I have moved your query to a topic of its own. We ask members not to add questions to someone else's topic as it is easy for the wrong information to be given/taken.

The most important thing is to get the ESA50 from returned on time. Your friend can send in extra information later if needed.

Medical 'support' varies in its helpfulness - a single line saying 'Cardiff's friend cannot work' is all-but useless. Something referring to the descriptors and explaining how/why they are met would be ideal. Most reports fall somewhere in between!

If you have further questions or comments about your friend's ESA please reply to this and we will do our best to help :)

Thanks your reply. I will see if my friend's Care Worker will write a report - I will try to guide him as to what to write. Due to my friend's mental stae - severe depression, anxiety and paronoia coupled with the medication he is taking DVLA suspended his driving licence. I think this may be a good point to make on the ESA50 form - I would appreciate your thoughts. He was a lorry driver before he had a major road accident in 2006 which resulted in severe physical injuries which still affect him greatly today. Also his mental health deteriorated severely as a result. I will try to read through the current Guidance notes on this site today.

Hi Mark,

By all means mention the fact that DVLA removed your friend's driving licence. To be of any use, you must tie this in with particular ESA descriptors. For instance, you might argue that this is evidence of cognitive problems, the ability to learn new tasks or navigate a route.
