Having read the previous messages, I am rather confused! John was supposed to have a home visit for a PIP assessment in August of last year. What happened please?

I think we will try and get an appointment closer to home then hopefully that would be half the battle
What happens if they cancel an appointment due to possible bad weather?
Just one further question I know that using a stick used to go against you as if you use a stick you don't need help but does this same thinking go for the use of a mobility cart?

If the Assessment Provider cancels the appointment then it does not count against you although you might want to have a look at the following

PIP Treats aids such as a stick differently from DLA and in general using an aid will lead to the claimants scoring points, however, this is less the case for Moving Around. The PIP test only looks at the claimants ability to stand and move (walk), no account will be taken of a wheelchair or buggy, if you need to use these when out then you need to explain why you are unable to walk rather than why you use the mobility cart.
