 Thanks to benefits and work -their info was essential reading and resulted in my transfer to pip being successful

The DWP were up to their normal shall we say 'economic with the truth' .actions
Was sent letter informing me that my benefits were stopping and that i had to apply for PIP- When asked why this was not an automatic transfer-( i won my award in 2008 and was told in May 2016 that it was indefinite it made no sense to me as such. Vague reply but told i had to fill a new form.. What utter nonsense,. However filled in the form sent several 'specialist 'statements, 2 care forms from local council , 7 pages of 'extra notes' about my diseases and medication -4 pages of prescriptions and guess what-they never even read any of it. This is a fact- will explain later.
Received a letter from the Atos group saying i needed an examination of my status-fore armed is fore warned - i telephoned them and asked why??? they said to ask DWP -I asked DWP. and they gave the usual answer -new claim - i said after 8 years 4 revues all giving indefinaie award -asked did any one read my forms -no answer -pat answer -you will have to attend.
Teelphoned Atos and stated my requirements etc for examination

Arrived at Doncaser Waterdale BE AWARE The ATOS BUILDING IS OVER 600 METRES FROM THE NEAREST CAR PARK AND IMPOSSIBLE TO BE 'DROPPED OFF OUTSIDE- IT IS IN AN ENCLOSED PRECINT!!!!'
i ARRIVED BY WHEELCHAIR!!!! -kept waitinG for 15minutes when asked why the delay, was informed the examiner was reading my case!!! to read 50 pages in 15mins and absorb the info must mean an i.q. of 200 -was observed all the time in waiting room by 2 cameras!!!.
Gentleman examiner- when asked for his qualifications- physiotherapist!!!! I asked how he could carry out the assessment as both DWP and AtTOS had agreed in writing and on their web sites that my main disease required a doctor!!!!- proof that DWP not readmy form. Asked him what he knew about my disease - not a great deal was his reply!!! I agreed to carry on.. i was recording the conversation - not allowed according to ATOs but it was for my own benifit
The examination lasted one and half hours but was told at the beginning that it would be 45 mins
3 weeks later received response -maximum for pip on both counts 22 and 24 points for ten years!!-did not agree with dla side, thought points were too low on some catagories but well over the limit.

My point is this, DWP are not checking the forms for PIP but passing straight to ATOS why?
anyone awarded DLA/motorbility via a tribunal will still have their case reviewed for PIP thus rendering the APPEAL award void-why-??even on severe medical conditions.

Why is the ATOS assessment centre at Doncaster, in a precinct with no access at all for vehicles parking or 'dropping off:' for 600metres, when the ESA Assesment Centre isis 4 to 5 metres away from parking area!!!
Be warned, do not attempt to walk to Doncaster PIP /Atos office, you are putting yourself at risk of failing motorbility even before you are examind-(how did you arrive is one of the 1st questions you will be asked.

Welcome to the forum.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

Congratulations on the award.

The DWP pass your form to the Assessment Provider after receipt and scanning onto their system because they have no in-house medical expertise and the assessment process is contracted to ATOS and Capita.

As to any Tribunal Decision. This was a Decision at a point in time in your claim, a reassessment results in a new Decision, each new Decision supersedes any previous one.

As to the placement of the assessment centre, I would ask your MP why the DWP did not include restrictions in office placement in the original tender documents.

I had my pip interview at Swindon, I had taxi both ways went in on crutches aware or cctv so got up several times as my legs hurt and unable to remain seated for long periods. When I was called i stumbled a bit to stand made way to office used table to lower myself to chair. I stood up many time during interview which was noted in the report. Also a full A4 sheet of my look's appearance ect was noted in the report right down to how clean my finger nails where. When my letter came I still get basic pip but now get basic mobility allowance. I bought my own scooter in November as my MS is making my walking a near impossible situation. But I can now get out. So be warned tell the truth about your condition keep a dairy this will help you remember as 3 or 4 months pass since you fill in the form and go for interview.

Sorry I don't know if this applies to ESA but when I had my first assessment I rang the office to advise I could not use public transport and I needed a taxi the operator said as the assessment rooms were based on the 1st floor I shouldn't have been allocated that centre and the operator also told me that I would've been turned away if I did attend due to stairs and he had to arrange an alternative centre for me which he did. Just information I wanted to share to check as same applied for my second assessment last September
