PIP Appeal

I have just received a very heavy letter from the DWP in which they are responding to my PIP appeal and I was wondering if anyone who has experience received the same closing sentence on their cover letter:

'I oppose the appeal and ask for the tribunal to dismiss this appeal and confirm the Secretary of State's decision'

They then quote a PIP law link underneath.

My question in relation to this is:

Is this a standard reply to all appeals that they receive when they do not change their minds or are they trying to get my appeal thrown out without a hearing?

Secondly, due to embarrassment I have never mentioned my weight as I am morbidly obese, although I did mention I was on medication for this, as I have not claimed using this information can I add these details to my appeal, or should i just turn up to my court appeal and let them see for themselves? One piece of evidence I sent to appeal does have an independent mobility assessment performed on behalf of the local council, in which they awarded me a blue badge due to all my conditions and it does mention the weight. At the DLA to PIP assessment and subsequent reports they have just mentioned me being nourished.

Yes, DWP usually ask the Tribunal Service to disallow the appeal. The TS also usually ignore this and carry on.

This is your chance to add anything that might help your case. This includes information about your weight and the report from the blue badge assessment.
