WCA , concerned re report with PIP was created by R Shorter
I am due to attend a face to face assessment for the renewal of my ESA benefit. I am mindful of what B and W guide says about the ESA report being used a basis for PIP ( for when I am asked to transfer from DLA). Very concerned that the limited tick box answers of the lima system Maximus use will distort the true facts and give no detail/context (even if I explain at the time) with especially washing and dressing answers. What does washing without help mean? Does it mean without aids? Any advice about or experience of how to address this would be gratefully received. Thank you

Welcome to the forum.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

Although we give a warning in the claim guides we have not seen a PIP claim effected by an adverse ESA claim or vice versa, reports seem to only be used in a positive context.

Just to be clear washing and dressing are PIP activities, they are not considered for ESA.

without help has two implications, first it means without a suitable aid or appliance, secondly it means without prompting, assistance or supervision by another person.

In either case, if you cannot complete an activity even with help, then you need to explain why this is the case of your PIP2.
