hi am new I have just applied for p I p from d l a I moved doctors two yrs. ago . and half of my medical records were lost . I don't know were I would stand with this . any advise please. my question is what if the d w p ask my doctor for my medical report and he does not have it . what will happen as this happened to any body else? .
GPs are only asked for a report in around 25% of cases (which is why we always suggest that members should send in themselves any information they want to be available for the assessment). Even then, the form they are asked to complete is pretty basic. As long as your GP can conform your diagnoses, any other information requested will be about how your conditions affect you now, not historical data.
Please make good use of our PIP guide, the criteria are very different from those relating to DLA.
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too
