Hello I rang esa to update bank details and asked when I would recieve a new esa50 form . The advisor checked and said I was placed in the support group in June 2013 and their is no end date so no indication . Could you offer any advice on this ?

HI Lb,

ESA is, technically, an open-ended award with no fixed end date. However, there is usually (always?) a 'prognosis' entered on the file and this is the date reassessment should be expected.

The longest period in ESA without reassessment, under normal circumstances, is 3 years. On this basis I'm afraid you are already overdue a reassessment! Some areas do seem to still have backlogs and we are hearing from members occasionally in similar circumstances to you.

You could try ringing again and ask specifically for the 'prognosis' or, as you know that forms have not already beenh sent and gone astray, you could choose to let sleeping dogs lie, it is up to you!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thank you for your reply , I guess I'll leave them to contact me , I've printed off an esa50 form and with ur guides going to take a few weeks writing out answers and making sure I've done it right then draft a letter for my doctor in preparation . I've got PIP reassessment beginning of April too so printed a pip2 that I'm going to concentrate on after I've got my ESA 50 draft prepared so trying to get prepared as I'm sure other memebers feel the stress and impact the reassessments cause I know last time it caused me to relapse just trying to prevent that from happening again , dreading it , but one question at a time ,I get palpitations just writing about it !. X
