The problem with the system is that these HCP's are doing a job for a company which has been given a contract to do the work.
I read a report of a woman who went for a job with one of these companies and consequently left because she was appalled at what she had to do to get a result favourable for the company, if you cannot take an independent witness along with you or record the session ambiguities can and do occur from what ever source and you can be turned down for what ever benefit you are trying to get a shame but it's true.

Its a sad state of affairs when you attend a 15 minute meeting with an assessor that can essentially overturn in my case the diagnosis and prognosis of 5 consultant neurologists and your own GP over the past 10 years. On the basis that you are clothed and washed/shaven.

I understand they have targets ....... But surely they are not taught to lack common sense and morals in their job descriptions.

Exactly the same in my case just a load of untruths mentioned me having steroids injections when I have an ms relapse I never have had injections only tablets. The whole process is a disgrace. I would hate to work for capita I'm too honest to do it. I strongly suspect there are a lot of bonuses being earned. They should hang their heads in shame.

It appears to be more than just a chance that these discrepancies appear in many peoples decision letters. We are now in an era where a good webcam costs £30 , and if the DWP or their representatives recorded videos of every assessment then these issues would never arise.

It should never be the case where people with genuine health conditions have to sit and worry about the outcomes of these face to face meetings.

From my experience it is imperative that a request for an Audio Recorded assesment is made for ESA and if you can afford the cost (about £30) insist on a recorded Pip assesment. This at least means the HCP can not misrepresernt what was actually said.

It is pity that a video recording cannot also be allowed as this would alliviate the possibly inaccurate assesment of non-verbal communications.
